Myth or Fact?: Eating eggs is bad for your health.

MYTH!
It’s true: egg yolks are high in cholesterol. It’s also true that foods that are high in cholesterol can raise “bad” LDL cholesterol levels – but usually only by a small amount. Studies haven’t found eating eggs raises cholesterol levels. Egg yolks appear to contain micronutrients and compounds that interfere with your ability to absorb cholesterol. Clinical trials haven’t found any association between eggs and heart disease – except in people who are unusually sensitive to dietary cholesterol (if this is you, talk to your doctor or dietitian).
The takeaway: For most people, eggs can be a great source of protein and important micronutrients.
